The SG Psych Stuff Career Advisory Programme started in 2022, and is Singapore’s first and only social service sector-oriented career advisory program. This program is designed to help career advisees (such as fresh graduates, those making a mid-career transition, or someone interested in the social service sectors) by providing guidance and advice to support the individuals’ journeys in developing their career in the social services industry, i.e. psychology, counselling, social work and related industries.
We aim to provide you with the most updated information, resources, and/or opportunities, to make a more informed decision regarding your future education and career pathways in the sectors!
Our Career Advisory Programme has 3 components:
1. Provision of career and industry updates and resources
These will be sent regularly to you to allow you to be highly informed about job, internship and volunteering opportunities, tips on improving your career prospects, job search, and job placements, and even on latest information about the Singapore job scene and the social service sectors in Singapore!
2. One-to-one career advisory consultation sessions
In these sessions, a career advisor is assigned to you to help you gain better clarity of yourself, as well as the employment and training landscape out there. You can develop greater self-awareness, understand your career interests and preferences, recognize your work motivations, and assess your strengths and barriers to employment. You can even get tips on how to better improve your chances to secure your next job or postgraduate studies position.
3. Exclusive talks and workshops
These talks will be targeted to help you gain a upperhand on how to prepare yourself to secure your jobs, as well as get greater insights to yourself! Being highly focused on building one’s careers, experts from the industries will share insights which may be highly specific to your needs.
